About this user
I'm quite certain that the channel is self-explanatory. I'm a student of history, particularly the Roman Empire.
My political views are rather straight forward. I believe it is the Government's task to provide for the rights and protection of the people. All people, this obviously implies that compromises and sacrifices must be made along the way. There is nothing wrong with this.
People's personal life, religious beliefs, sexual preference, private insecurities are not my business and I quite frankly don't want to hear about it. Its trivial in the grand scheme of things.
If the Government also see's fit to do it's part to advance the social welfare of the public thats fine too, so long as its carefully calculated and effective. Surely we can't all wander aimlessly in the dark pursuing different goals that often conflict eachother, and expected to preserve our great union for long. At the same time, wasted time and money on folly endeavors will not allow for progress. I'm neither Republican or Democrat, they are both horrible, and work only to achieve their own ends above the welfare of the public. I am an American, first and foremost!
Having voted for Obama, I am not now, nor will I ever be ashamed, but I can say that he is mired by the political schizophrenia which plagues this great nation.
Dark as these days are however, as a student of history, and inspite of many people saying "America's days are over", I couldn't disagree more. Our best days, as well as Humanity's best days are still ahead. Rome endured decades of a corrupt Republic and Civil Strife before it emerged as the great Empire it would be remembered as for a thousand years!
Obama may not be the savior some make him out to be. But people really should cut him a little slack. He's doing the best he can with his opposition not giving him one inch of ground. So press on, good sir. I may not like you, but I'm on your side nonetheless.
