What happened to my world!
I breathed monthly sprayings of pesticides 7 years while working for a utility co. When I became violently ill one day, after the spraying, I was fired for being lazy. Many of us developed Irritable bowel syndrome, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and ongoing sinus infections. Age 40.
After replacing a damaged carpet in my townhouse, I became violently ill, and could not live in my home. The new carpet had Arsenic and Formaldehyde in it. My eyes and lungs burned like fire. I was very sick. Eventually I won a law suit, new carpet, and $3000.00.
Now I was chemically sensitivity to perfume, moth balls, potpourri, and I never used pesticides! Also I have not used oven cleaner in years, and was tearing dryer sheets into small pieces, so as not to have much fragrance on my clothes. I no longer gave myself permanents, since it made me too sick, and never, ever, did I have anything dry cleaned!
Then one day while meditating in the temple, I realized I had become sensitive to incense. Now I could not go to the temple, but only on Sat. when everyone meditated out of doors all day, spending a day in silence.
While working for a telemarketing co. on the east side of town, I got a Full Load! (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity)They were painting the walls, hot tarring the roof, and applying hot asphalt in the parking lot. Suddenly I felt I had been hit in the head with a base ball bat! The pain was excruciating! I jumped up, my heart hurt terribly. I was disoriented, confused, running fast, hitting things, dizzy, weakened, nauseated, and sure I was going to die. I had to get away from the chemicals. My car was in a safe area, away from polluted air, so I just sat there. My friend Edward came out to see how I was, and to give me my purse, and small air purifier. He asked me if I wanted him to call the paramedics. I said no, since I felt there was nothing they could do for me. I just needed fresh clean air, which I now had. Vitamin C would have helped me greatly, but paramedics dont carry it, and I didnt know that at the time. I have since learned Vitamin C detoxs chemicals.
Ive been ill with mcs 11 years, and mostly avoid crowds. The burning pain of chemicals on my skin, and inside my nose, made me want to die at times, in the past. I used to leave very angry when neighbors sprayed! While asking God for help one day, I prayed, father forgive them, they know not what they do Im grateful for all my blessings, I have a home, car, I can walk, talk, see, and hear. Email my 4 sons. I ride a mountain bike on local trails, and do some hiking on nearby mountains. When neighbors spray, I leave in my car, its my only safe place!
