Its killing the spark but not the fuel injection so, whilst your still on the throttle, its injecting 25ms of fuel thats not getting burnt. Spark plugs fire up again and ignites that unburnt fuel.

Leather would help a lot with aerodynamics. Doesn't matter about putting weight on the front. You could sit on the front mudguard and it would still lift.
