Not only does her appeal span countries, it spans time. I am in my 60s and her songs bring back memories from my 20s with a clarity that is actually hard to feel again. Just her and the piano and power of her talent touches eveyone.

I had a dog that would do the same thing with our cats. The cats got so spoiled that they would walk up to the dog and just plop down on the floor...as if they were arriving for their massage appointment.
