As A Certified Paranormal Investigator,I Will Define The Differences: GHOST: Known As A "Residual Haunting", A Ghost Is Simply A Playback Of A Past Event. There Is No Life Force In A Ghost. A Ghost Simply Plays Back The Same Event Over And Over. Ghosts Can Affect The Visual,Auditory,Olfactory And Tactile Senses Of A Person. Animals And Objects Can Be Ghosts Also.....You CAN NOT Communicate With A Ghost Since It Is Simply A Play Back. SPIRIT: A Spirit Is The Actual Presence Or Sentient Soul Of A Person That Has Died.....You CAN Communicate With A Spirit. Many Spirits Remain Earthbound Or In The Material World Due To "Unfinished Business" Or Other Reasons. ENTITY: Many People Refer To Ghosts And Spirits As Entities. This Is Not The Case. An "Entity" Refers To Demonic Or Angelic Hauntings. Demonic Would Be Demons,Or Un-Human Spirits, And Angelic Would Be Visions Of Angels,Jesus,The Virgin Mary And So Forth. POLTERGEIST: German For "Noisy Ghost" A Poltergeist Is Usually Centered Around One Person Known As A "Epicenter".....Poltergeists Are Known For Knockings And Rappings, Turning On Light Switches, Opening And Slamming Cabinets, Throwing And Moving Objects And Furniture And Other Scary And Nasty Pranks. Many Paranormal Investigators Don't Believe That Poltergeists Are Ghosts At All, But Rather Telekinesis Projected From A Person That Is Under Great Stress And Going Through Puberty. Poltergeists Are Usually Centered Around Pre-Teen And Teenage Girls More Often Than Pre-Teen And Teenage Boys. Poltergeist Activity Usually Stops As The Epicenter Becomes Older. ORBS: Orbs Are Round Balls Of Light That Appear On Film At Haunted Locations. Simply "Energy", Orbs Are A Way That A Ghost Or Spirit Try To Manifest Itself.
