Who Is Papi Storz (BIO)?
Papi Storz bka Nj's underdog of U C'EM RECORDZ! started his rap career back in the streets of Orange, NJ at a young age as just something fun to do. This young latino male hailing from Essex County would soon fall in love with the infamous Hip-Hop Game. He began by freestyling in school, which eventually lead to battling other rappers and earned him the recognition he deserved. His impressive lyrical abilities provided him with the vehicle he needed for greater exposure. Before he knew it, his name began to buzz around the streets and he was invited on numerous occassions to battle some of the toughest rap competitors in different neighborhoods throughout NJ. The fans demanded more and eventually money started being placed on battles - Papi Storz began getting paid to do what he does best. His street recognition grew greater with each subsequent battle he won. Around this same time, Papi Storz's good friend, as well as rap partner Photo, linked up with some promising people from Rutgers University. It turned out that one of Photo's friends knew another emcee by the name of Nimrod aka Nimi Hendrix who had a studio in one of the dorms. They began making music together and started loosely releasing CD's. Then, DJ Bobby Blast held a Roc Tha Mic Rap Battle in Essex County College with special guest judge DJ Lazy K (The Mixtape Queen). Papi Storz went on to win that battle and greatly impressed DJ Lazy K by doing so. She noticed his talent and signed him as one of her artists. Her connections in the industry lead to the featuring of Papi Storz on several of the top mixtapes circulating throughout the industry. One of the songs that significantly increased Papi Storz's popularity was the song he recorded with Dip-Set rapper JR Writer entitled: "Win or Lose." From that point on, he began to record tracks with several artists such as: Jo-Jo Pella Grino, King Just, Hitch Cock, DJ Clues' artist Desert Storm, among others. Un-Kasa of Dip-Set asked to do a track together with Papi Storz, as well as Stack Bundles (RIP) of Dip-Set, and Max B of Dip-Set. Unfortunately for everyone involved, Max B. was incarcerated and then Dip-Set's quickly rising star Stack Bundles was tragically murdered (Rayquan Elliot, may you Rest In Peace). Needless to say, Papi Storz never got a chance to meet the two other individuals in the studio. Luckily, Papi Storz received an exclusive track with Max B. and Stack Bundles for an upcoming mixtape that had one available 16 bar verse open. The DJ hosting the mixtape told Papi Storz to provide him with a verse and so he did. The song is entitled: "Something I Don't Know." It quickly became a hit. In addition to the mixtape scene, it can be found on YouTube and several other websites. The approval of Papi Storz's lyrical talent among the Dip-Set members lead to him teaming up with Tom Gist (Dip-Set) to produce great music. They made a song together entitled "New Breed of Mcees," which also featured Geolani of Team Afficial. Tom Gist and Papi Storz were equally impressed with eachother and developed a bond that ultimately lead to the hit song "Dip-Set Family." The song has been buzzing around the streets as well as the internet. The fans demanded more, so a Free ringtone was created as a means of saying thank you for appreciating good music. Shortly there after, Papi Storz was featured on the MIC Magazine. He is currently working on appearing in rhe Don-Diva Magazine. He has made appearances on numerous mixtapes hosted by some of the biggest names in the industry, such as DJ Lazy K; DJ Diggz; DJ Trigga; Sure Shot; Young Face; Bobby Blast; and White Owl; among others. In addition, he was featured on DJ Scoob-Doo's (Jim-Jones'/Byrdgangs' DJ) "Streets Talk Radio Show," and will soon be on the "Streets Talk" DVD. Currently, Papi Storz has 3 official mixtapes in circulation: "The Storz Is Now Open (hosted by DJ Trigga), "Tha Corner Storz...Welcome To My Hood," and "Give Me Hip-Hop or Give Me Death." He is currently working on his next mixtape and the Papi Storz DVD. Papi Storz was recently featured on Jerz Up Radio as the special guest feature for the evening.
