The opening riff is mostly a 5th fret D and D sus 4. Not all that hard to play. The whole song isn't *that* difficult to play. The kicker is, Pete Townsend thought this awesome piece of music up to begin with.

Heard a cover of this tune about three weeks ago and thought, "That sounds a bit like a song by Stan Rogers, 'The Idiot.'" So I looked it up on YouTube and what do you know! Stan Rogers.

The song was genius when these guys were in their 20's. Now, nearly 50 years later, we can all say, 'Yeah, we were right. It *is* genius!' And so are Simon and Garfunkel.

Nic is a bit like Cat Stevens (Yusef Islam) for me: he has a sound I could live inside forever.

James Taylor has always had the ability to take someone else's song and make it his own. Buddy Holly's 'Every Day' sounds like a James Taylor song when James does it. Melanie can take a James Taylor song and do exactly the same thing. You'd think this was her song.
