Keep your shoulders back, but lean forward so your in a hunter position. tighten your reins! They don't have to be choking tight because this horse doesn't seem to rush at the jumps, but it will keep him from refusing because you can keep his head straight. it should help with staying at the righ...

Work on your balance and trotting bareback, and work on breaking out of a canter and staying blanced. Do it lots of times, it will help!

@BlondieDana123 I don't think there are horses that are cremello paints. Either a cremello, or paint. Paints can have two blue eyes, but that doesn't make them cremello.

Running walk. Squeeze your legs more but keep them at the gait, don't let them change. Ask him to go faster, but not change gaits. Practice.

I have to disagree. I'm only 14, and I don't plan on using my Saddlebred for high shows like this, but my horse is not crazy or highstrung at all. and he's not even 2 yet. My 15 year old TB/TWH is more high strung than him.

@IvyRanch NOPE. My horse used to be SUPER fat, and his trot was even worse then than it is now. He's not skinny right now, just a tad bit overweight, and his trot is pretty much the same. I can sit it now though, you just have to practice and get used to the horse.
