It is my opinion that religion is the scourge of mankind. It is and has been responsible for more death and misery than all other causes combined. More children have died (and continue to die) in the third world due to the prolonging of poverty due to the harmful doctrines of religion than have ever died of cancer. It warps perception of the world, it destroys reason and it imbues guilt, self-pity, self-righteousness, self-loathing, division and hatred.

Religion is truly the folly of mankind.

Not until religion is sidelined as a freak activity along with other superstitious beliefs can mankind begin to call itself civilized and not until we all realize that we only have one short life with death being the end can we begin to start caring for one another, our planet and all living creatures.
