On that 36 plate configuration, I would suggest that you take those doubled up ++ and -- and turn one of them into a Neutral. You will not see any benefit to ++ and -- but you will get a better mmw with 5 neutrals.

As you can see from my latest videos, I've totally abandoned the open bath design and headed down the dry cell route.

I've decided to change my plate config completely, this time cutting out neutral plates. I've come to the conclusion that there is nothing wrong with neutral plates, they are great for keeping amps and heat down, but only seem to get in the way when you want more than 1 to 1.5 LPM of production. I'm personally shooting for upwards of 2.5 LPM.

I'm working on a very tightly spaced +-+-+-+ setup at the moment with about 1/16th inch gap between each plate. I'm also putting together some sketches for a flow system where the electrolyte will be pumped through the plates, rather than using the open bath approach.

Update:

I just ordered a Pelican 1450 case to use for my generator and am planning to put together a 36 plate configuration as soon as that arrives. I'm going to shoot for 50amps max load and see how it fares with heat and LPM.

Config will be: +NNNN- -NNNN+ +NNNN- -NNNN+ +NNNN- -NNNN+

I'll post another video as soon as I have this working.
