My videos are a way for me to practice using the languages, but it's a great way to help learn a foreign language - I've used this method for learning English, Spanish, and the two semesters of German I took last year.

Hearing something you're familiar with being spoken in another language really helps to pick it up faster.

NOTE: Though I try to stay as close to a literal translation as possible sometimes what one says and what is meant can be/sound slightly different, so I tend to favour meaning over literal content in my translations. (Ie. "Veja só que hora boa!" literally means "Look at what a perfect hour", but it is the direct equivalent to "look at what perfect timing [this is]!" or "Look at what a perfect moment [this is]!", which is what I'd use).
I try to point out as many of these differences as I can during the video.
