Great job. I'm glad to see that PRSA used this as an opportunity to educate people about our often-misunderstood profession.

This is a fantastic video and I am thrilled that PRSA took this important step in directly addressing CBS' report. I appreciate that PRSA specifiically outlines the importance of ethics and honesty as well as the role of advocate and educator played by PR professionals throughout the world. Thanks PRSA. And, yes, please make this shareable as I would like to post it to my Facebook account.

I write about PRSA's response in this situation on my blog. Briefly, this is not an admirable or inspiring use of membership dollars.

I agree that this seems like a mountain of response over a molehill of controversy. If we could point to examples where bad practice - violations of the code of ethics - resulted in PRSA sanctions or censure, then our case might not fall on so many disinterested ears. When was the last time a major agency was expelled from PRSA?

The PRSA Code of Ethics is a fine statement of ideals to which practitioners can strive. But Cohen did not condemn our ideals; he went after the practices of guys like McClellan about whom Julin - and, therefore, PRSA - is silent. Doesn't that say it all?

I wouldn't have know about Cohen's comments if PRSA hadn't kept reminding me in its e-mails. Really, it seems like much ado about nothing. You're talking about a short comment by an unknown commentator on a third-ranked network. Let it go. And get to work proving Cohen wrong.

While I applaud the purpose and sentiment of what's being said here, my goodness, this is YouTube not a PRSA annual meeting. Too many words written and scrubed by committee, too much "talking head," and not enough real emotion explaining what we do, our value to our clients and society, and why we feel we've been "wronged."

yeah, spreading the word by having the ability to share in ways other than e-mail would have been appreciated.

This is a fantastic response and I appreciate the PRSA taking the step of putting this out there. Cohen's attack was both mean-spirited and flat out wrong, and we in the industry should do all we can to refute such nonsense. Isn't CBS the same network that knowingly broadcast false information in an effort to slam the President? I guess the kettle is black after all. My only gripe is that this response comes EIGHT DAYS after the fact and (as the previous commentator correctly points out) is not "sharable." I'd gladly post this to my blog, where both of my readers could see it, if only I had the opportunity.
