About this user
Hindu is the new name for the eternal Sanatana Dharma. As the muslim invaders came to India and saw the noble Aryans practicing their eternal spiritual practices of Sanatana Dharma near the Sindhu river they started calling them Hindu. The name doesn't directly come in Vedas. In Vedic times there was no religion as such. The vast Sanatana Dharma contained in itself various branches of spiritual knowledge and ideal good behavior of man and his life. Stress was on how to lead a successful life, understand its purpose and relationship with the universe and God.
Both personal and impersonal forms of worship has been a part of Sanatana Dharma. This has existed since time immemorial.
With due time we did adopt the word Hindu which indeed represents Sanatana Dharma. For this reason only we take pride in it. Because it represents an eternal vast ocean of knowledge that hasn't died and cannot die in spite of time and ages passing by. This ageless knowledge has not only given man an ideal path to live life to the fullest potential but has also given man freedom from the cycle of birth and death and the yoga of union with the Supreme Divinity.
