About PETI - People For the Ethical Treatment of Ideas
The People for the Ethical Treatment of Ideas (PETI) is a nonprofit protest organization committed to ending the cruel and murderous practices of advertising agencies.
We reject the arbitrary "good" and "bad" designations used by advertising creatives to elevate some ideas and mercilessly kill others. Who are they to decide which ideas live and die? Who are they to conceive ideas, subject them to humiliating design tweaks, headline changes, and client comments and then enslave them for use in some campaign that no one will ever even notice?
PETI's been fighting this type of conceptual cruelty since 2005. And we won't give up until we've stopped the ideacide. Our current fight is against the pharmaceutical ad firm AgencyRx. Help us end their crimes against the conceptuality!

Born to a middle-class shoe salesman and an assistant women's volleyball coach, Chet considers his real forebearers to be the noble Cherokee warriors, stewards of the Great Plains. His passion for justice dates back to his 11th year, when he staged a cafeteria riot to bring back the delicious pizza stick.Since then he's lent his revolutionary spirit to causes as righteous and diverse as protecting the endangered Sasquatch, promoting the healing powers of eucalyptus, harnessing the power of the earth's core, and exposing the lie of professional wrestling.
Chet's first horrible glimpse at the injustice of advertising happened while temping as an assistant reception specialist for Manhattan ad firm AgencyRx. He got the job through his sister's boyfriend Ronald.
At AgencyRx, Chet witnessed innocent ideas being conceived, humiliated, and killed on a daily basis, and his repeated attempts to alert the authorities to these atrocities were ignored. It was then that he knew he had to take matters into his own hands.
After a short incarceration for attempted arson, he founded PETI. He's been the organization's guiding light ever since. His inspirations include Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and Lance Bass.
