Performance Direct Insurance were amongst the many proud exhibitors at Autosport International 2012. 2 Ferrari 458 Italia's adorned the show stand which along with the Performance Direct Promo Girls caused quite a stir.
Amongst the many highlights of the show was the unveiling of the new Porsche 911 Carrera and the Ayrton Senna Tribute which displayed a range of his cars from his original Kart up to his Formula 1 cars. While on the subject of F1, there was the F1 Racing Grid featuring the top teams from the season, including of course the incredible Red Bull car - The RB6. For fans of Formula One history, there was a display showing cars that were once driven by racing legends such as Niki Lauda, Nigel Mansell and James Hunt.
For other Motor Sport fans you couldn't get very far without seeing a diplay of Classic Rally or Sports Cars. The historic Formula 3 line up drew a lot of attention showing the original Formula Three cars as driven by the likes of Stirling Moss and Bernie Ecclestone.
Radical have finally unleashed the imensly fast 300bhp SR3 SL powered by a 2 litre Ford-RPE ExoBoost engine.
Quite simply Autosport International is a must for any die-hard automotive fan with enough to see that you can struggle to get round it all in one day.
So whether you want to see the racing cars from your favourite brands such as the Porsche 918 RSR or Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, Supercars such as the Ultima GTR or Noble's new M600 Carbon Edition, or simply get up close and personal with some of the race cars you'd normally only be able to see as a blur flying around a race track then Autosport International is a must for you.

Performance Direct Insurance were proud to support the recent Top Gear Live shows at The Excel Centre in London. The beautiful Performance Direct promo girls, Hayley Sams and Georgia Graham were on hand to greet people arriving at the Performance Direct show stand.
Top Gear Live always offers a range of motoring mayhem and this year alongside the stunning track displays and live action arena was a fantastic exhibition of supercars old and new. Amongst the show cars worthy of attention were the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR - the only right-hand drive version made, which may look a little like a CLK on the outside but is a pure bread racer underneath the bodywork. Alongside this on the Autoglym stand were an extremely rare Koenigsegg CCXR, a Ferrari 250 GTO, a Mercedes SLS Gullwing and the Black Ferrari Enzo owned by Jay Kay.
Many of the Top Gear cars driven by Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond on the TV series were on show for closer inspection. These included the Skoda Yeti with a Helicopter parked on top, the Hammerhead Eagle Thrust environmental car, the Triumph Herald Boat, Jeremy's crashed BMW 635 Csi, a Lexus police car, BMW Z3 from the Middle East Challenge and the Top Gear Scooters from Vietnam - a 1967 Piaggio Vespa 150cc VBC Super and a 1973 Honda 50cc Chaly. This is without mentioning the sadly crushed reasonably priced car, the Lacetti.
The Top Gear Studio was also recreated within the exhibition so you could sit in the famous chairs and imagine what it would be like to be on the show, as well as being able to set the "cool wall" straight by placing the cars where you felt they really belong. Although I'm sure Jeremy Clarkson re-sorted it after the show!
Worthwhile classics on show included one of the worlds most beautiful cars, the Lamborghini Muira which sat nicely between a Countach and a Murcielago with matt paintwork. There was also a beautiful Ford Mustang on show, a car which is always irresistible upon hearing that great engine start up. The London Motor Museum had brought along a few of their choice automobiles which included a fantastic Dodge Challenger SRT and the Mega Pete Tron - a Peterbilt Truck inspired by the recent Transformers and Tron films.
Interestingly, Disney turned up to promote the DVD release of Cars 2 with real production versions of Lightyear McQueen and Fin McMissile. Yet, at an exhibition that had a Skoda capable of over 200 mph these weren't the most ludicrous displays. The 227 mph Skoda set the record for being the fastest 2.0 litre supercharged production car.
More typical supercars such as the McLaren MP4 12C and the Bugatti Veyron were also on display alongside many trade stands and exhibits such as the Motor Mouse stand as featured on Dragons Den and the latest Forza Motorsport game where you can race a reasonably priced car around the Top Gear Track and pitch your skills against The Stig.

Performance Direct Insurance happily supported the Silverstone Classic Car Show - Rocking and Racing, up at Silverstone Circuit on 22nd - 24th July. The Performance Direct stand featured a beautiful Volkswagen Karmann Ghia and an original Fiat 500 supplied by The Classic Car Club - London. As stunning as the cars were the two Performance Direct Promo Girls, Hayley Sams and Michelle Westby who, as always, created quite a stir at the show.
The event itself was one where World Records fell one after the other, firstly with 1104 race entries and over 8000 classic cars being displayed the Silverstone Classic is claiming to be the biggest race meeting ever staged in motor racing history. Over 120 car clubs turned up to support the event and to share their motoring pride and joy with like-minded motoring fans.
