PATHWAYS Leadership for Progress is a non-profit organziation to provide scholarships and leadership training to qualified, though disadvantaged youth (AIDS orphans, women, others) in developing countries. Leadership skills are gained through the requirement of a community project developed and carried out by each PATHWAYS scholar during their university career. The organization, founded in 2005, was created so that young people with good ideas for the future of their communities and country could be given a chance to carry out the ideas and gain valuable leadership skills in the process.
Scholars receive expert advice from the PATHWAYS student coordinator, the PATHWAYS vice president in Kenya, and the PATHWAYS mentors.
We started the program in Kenya and have the goal of moving into other developing countries as we grow.

mjg6649 Deb, I am amazed as I watch the videos and listen to the conversations of those involved with Pathways. Seeing the faces of the students shows that they are excited, they are experiencing encouragement as they look forward to their future. Leadership training is so important and you and others are providing this opportunity for those who might not be able to develop the skills without your endeavors! Continue this good work!

It is wonderful to see such motivated students fulfilling their dreams. Too often, young adults take their education for granted, even college. These students are a wonderful example of grateful, intelligent, driven students. Looking forward to hearing more about their accomplishments! Thank goodness for organizations such as this one!

It has been such a pleasure to watch Monicah grow over the past several years! Now it is she who will join with others to help keep this wonderful organization growing in ways that we cannot even imagine here in the United States. Congratulations to the organization - and its team - that chooses to use hands-on, personal time to instruct and develop leaders. May this organization continue to grow and develop and may we see more smiles of accomplishment as time marches on. Outstanding endeavor!

I am not only impressed and inspired with The Pathways Foundation, but thankful for it. So many times we feel as if we alone cannot make a difference. Here is a perfect example to show us that WE CAN! Investing in education, especially in developing countries can only bring about a positive effect for our entire planet. When you watch the smiles and the great appreciation that beams from these student's faces, your heart and soul is touched! They are obviously working very hard to advance themselves, so as to help their communities, and ultimatley the world. This foundation has been very well organized and it is evident in the wonderful progress that has been made by the students and leaders! Congratulations to the students and to the founders of The Pathways Foundation! I would like to help in any way that I can.

I watched your video and was really impressed with the students. Keep up the good work. I think this organization really helps in fulfilling the development of disadvantaged kids in these developing countries. The program, I think, provides substance to the training and development in these students' leadership skills rather than just handing out scholarships. Great job!
