The P-3's Customs uses are old Alpha and Bravo airframes, so that would put them in the 40 to 50 year old range... Last Bravo was built in '69...

@aNZgoodguy, You are correct. Lou is a nickname for Lieutenant. It's a way to be more friendly like on a first name basis, but yet still shows respect to the rank. < Of course if the Lieutenant didn't like to addressed as "Lou" it would be made know, and the term not used.

@xosrov2 C-17 and C-5's have similar landing approaches for combat zones. The wide one is watching a C-5 do it with NVGs no lights on the aircraft, no lights on the airfield, and watching that big ass aircraft nose dive into it's combat landing. I'm sure AN-124s, AN22s do as well. Just never ...
