The Theist Challenge

It's been 1000s of years, and 1000s of gods have been invented or believed in. Never has anyone managed to provide decent evidence or reasoning for there being a god. Can anyone? This is the challenge. Do you have the faith to take it up? I certainly don't.

Conditions:

By decent evidence or reasoning I mean something pretty strong. Theists make an incredible claim, that there' s a god as defined below. This requires strong evidence.

God. I define a god as a being who:
a) is supernatural- able to break natural laws- and has.
b) listens to prayers, or is at least able to.
c) created the universe.
d) Is intelligent and personal.
If you can't demonstrate all, start with one.

Attempts must be:
a) be written in reasonable English- fix your capslock
b) not an obvious fallacy such as ad hominems or pretending that atheists have anything to prove.

Post your attempt on my profile, and I'll respond either by showing you the flaws, or by congratulating you, proclaiming you the winner and becoming a theist for all to see.

I have issued this challenge to many. Very few even dare to try. Don't feel you have to answer the challenge. You're entitled to whatever beliefs you want. Live and let live. I'm cool with that. Still, if you live your life by such a belief, you should be able to do this easily enough.

A few notable attempts.

1. Jamiknowshowtoflow (aka Jami888 and goodness knows how many other fake profiles) July '09. Jami barely knows how to form a sentence, littering his posts with capitals in the middles of sentences and getting very angry and puzzled that no one was taking him seriously. He claimed he had such evidence, then spent over a week trying to dig his way out of it- trying every little trick and lie he could to duck out of answering the challenge. Still nothing. He never actually even tried, but amused those of us reading his posts so much I thought I'd mention him. He was busted lying twice on the channel, desperately insisting he'd won. Just too proud to admit he was wrong. Very sad.

2. cboadicea. July '09. He actually stepped up and gave it a go. Good for him. It's very rare you get that. He was wrong, but sincere, and I respect that. He insisted that the universe was perfectly adapted for life, but ignored the 99.99% of the universe that was completely barren as best we know. He also said that a tiny bit more or less carbon and life would cease- this is not true, and he was unable to back this up.

So again he tried to use a holy book to show there's a god. It's barely even a relevent passage. Not a thinker. With a name like that he probably has a degree in Truthology.

Classic irrational rant from a fundie. This was all he had, no argument, no evidence, just this. He was so angry anyone threatened his worldview. Such a waste of a brain.

Honestly, this is his name, presumably he chose it himself without realising.
This one was not a waste of a brain at all, just look at his poor English. I challenged him to state the laws of thermodynamics, he didn't know them as his quote above shows, yet he was happy to mention them- simply a lack of education- he stopped mentioning them once I called his bluff. I challenged him to an honest debate, he accepted. Then all I had to do was challenge him to give evidence for creationism, and he had absolutely nothing. He banned me for asking a simple question. He gave up so easily. This seems to be the way with these guys. They really have nothing to back up anything they say.
