it's a harmonic he hits in the intro. If you listen to the song and how he plays it live, his always sounds different because he hits that note while other people just play the power chords. He talked about it in an interview

no, if this was a rock cover it would be butchered.... but THIS song is a Thrash cover, done by slayer, and its one HELL of a thrash song.

OutlawRisingOfficial replied to a comment from Mike Byrne 1 year ago
its not structured like Classic Thrash, it gives off a modern Thrash/Power metal kind of style and structure, more suited to like Megadeth on cocaine.

technically it is a metallica album in the same sense that Metallica is like "The Family" or whatever Manson called that cult, and Lous like Charles manson... they're all in it together, METALLICA was in the album, its a Metallica album, with lou reed, or a lou reed album with metallica, depends on which way you look at it, but theres more of metallica than there is of Lou. count it as a metallica album, through and through, yes its a collaboration but its still a metallica alum

i've heard it many times... and no songs don't need singing, look at Call of Ktulu, To live is to die, Suicide and redemption, Vampires from godsmack, in the hall of the mountain king. a song sounds better when it flows... spoken word (for this song) is clashing with the instruments... and lets me honest lous voice isn't what it used to be, and yeah i would reject it because i don't like it because its my taste in music, i listen to what i want to.

To be honest i don't think Jason didn't much to sway their genre. They had a rule like 30 second rule or something like that, when if he's playing something that they didn't like hey give it 30 seconds to see if it gets better, then they'd tell him to stop. so if they didn't want a sound, they weren't gonna let jason change that. and who's to say jasons making them a heavy metal band is bad... metal's in their name, not Thrash

Its Lou Reed and Metallica.. OH did you see that, did you see the Metallica in the name Lou Reed and Metallica. ITS A FUCKING LOU REED WITH METALLICA RECORD OR METALLICA WITH LOU REED RECORD! Metallica is in it, its a Collaborative record from them, and is still one of THEIR records, even if its with someone else. Their name is stamped on it. you can't avoid murder saying that your friend stabbed him too, thus metallica is still in this with Lou

Kudos to Lou for keeping time and key, unfortunately i can't say the same for Lulu.

when i listen to metallica, i don't want to hear them try new things, i listen to metallica to hear metallica, its why i like metallica, i'm not close minded, they are just best at what they used to do, and if your good at it why stop? should JJ Abrams stop making movies that are hard to follow? should michael bay give up no plot, hot chicks and explosions? no because it works for him.

actually the studio version Tomoyasu Hotei does play guitar, which would be why it'd sound weirder, but i think that its still fucking remarkable live, because you won't hear anything close to this from any other band

actually yes he did, the trend when the iphone came out was black berry style with the keyboard, after the iPhone more people wanted touch screen and other companies adapted to stay in the game, and The Mac was actually one of the first Desktop computers out there, if he did steal anything is was the interactive mouse from a Xerox machine. Mac was the first computer to use a certain type phase or something like that, which PC has ripped off. Apple, has done more than you think.

how come the words he's saying sound NOTHING like the studio at all... sounds like a completely different song

Side project or not, their name is stamped on the album which makes it a Metallica product, and Metallica worked on it with Lou reed, its a Metallica album (don't say "no its Lou Reed with metallica" yeah, metallicas name is still in there) its bad for their image even if it is a side project, because again... its a product of metallica, its like if Apple teamed up with Black berry and made a shit phone, apple would still get a bad rep... lets hope metallica smartens up... \m/

because he is a magician, why would he want to do anything other than the traditional magician way, why have a boring unmasking, when he could have a magical unmasking!! i dunno, he's a showman, why would he lie about revealing tricks? it would hurt his career in the eyes of other magicians, so why would he take credit for something that he didn't do?
