About this user
Hello Everyone! Allow me to be your host while you are here...so come grab a cup of tea and have a seat.
Well, I guess I should share a little about myself :-)
Schooling: California Baptist University BA in Music (emphasis: Theory/Composition)
I love music, I play music...i guess that makes me a musician :-)
I believe JS Bach put it best when he talked about music, "The aim and final reason, as of all music,...should be none else but the Glory of God and recreation of the mind [or soul]. Where this is not observed, there will be no real music but only a devilish hubbub"
I believe music has a very special power and way of touching people and not only shaping, but lifting them up and improving their lives whether you are the one performing or the one listening...it is a communal activity.
I have been blessed with so many opportunities to grow and learn as a musician and as a person.
I play around 20 instruments in all families and always seeking "one more" to help improve my understanding of music. As I see it, strings are just as much a part of music as percussion, which are just as much as ethnic, which are just as...you get the idea. But like in a good healthy family, you don't focus on yourself, but you seek to understand those around you.
I have also had wonderful opportunities to perform in many different situations. And it doesn't matter the genre of music (well, almost...i'm not too familiar with Rap to be honest). As musician's we are to serve those we play for whether it be conductor, composer, or audience. To be able to fit in as many genres is one more way to achieve that. My university's Choir travelled all over the United States...tiring but so wholesome, many lessons learned, I have led a jazz combo as well as performed with a ministerial ensemble to France and Switzerland known as Zontas (Greek for "to be full of life"). And there are so many other fun gigs to list, but some of the most enjoyable, I personally believe, have been for the nursing homes, rescue missions, and community festivals. Nothing like connecting with people on stage and off it!
I also love to write and compose music...as well as record it. I do have my own amateur recording studio. It definitely helps to hear myself and hear my pieces put together to better understand what I did well and what could use improvement. After all, when you are in the moment, it's sometimes hard to catch everything.
All in all, I do hope you enjoy my channel and the music found therein. I do the best I can and always look for an opportunity to play and better my abilities. Thanks for visiting and I hope that my music will be a welcome release to your busy days (we could all use breaks once in awhile)!
"There are so few happy and contented people here below, sorrow and anxiety pursue them from everywhere; perhaps your work may some day, become a spring from which the careworn may draw a few moment's rest and refreshment." - F.J. Haydn (what he told his musicians prior to the performance of his oratorio "The Creation")
