The BBC used to be quite cavalier in its adaptation of foreign imports. The originators may not have approved but this did make the success of The Magic Roundabout.

Perhaps the Belvision serials will finally get a DVD release thanks to that new film, however naff it proves to be.

I wonder if TVE (?) have a copy of the BBC soundtrack since some of the titles on this are in English? You can bet that the Beeb have managed to lose them in the intervening years.

Fortunately, I had heard this original piece before seeing Punkadiddle (originally segued from this track?) performed on stage. The backing film was a large gorilla rolling its eyes at the audience.
