Who cares what brings people to this song. Like you said it's a good song, as long as people recognize that, it's a good thing.The quality of the film or people's opinion towards it doesn't diminish the quality of this song.

I remember when I first saw this trailer. I love the movie and the music. Switchfoot lyrics match this movie to a T especially the song You when Landon drives off in the middle of the night (I love that part). I never cried though, not this movie, not the notebook.

This movie is up there with Titanic and Dirty Dancing. When Titanic came out I was too young to get too wrapped up into it (8yrs) so this was my Titanic. Still, I can appreciate the love stories of all three movies.
