@Lifeon89mars - CM wasn't arguing against taboos, he was arguing against 2001's status in every way. "It's a great movie" - CM says it isn't. "It's a movie" - CM says it isn't. That's pretty much all he has to say. He isn't saying that the film isn't a movie because of ___, he's just saying it isn't a movie at all. I could make any review of a film I dislike. I'll take Pulp Fiction for example. I have many reasons, both personal and what I think are objective flaws with the movie, on why I dislike the movie. If I were in the mindset of CM, I would be saying "Pulp Fiction sucks, anybody who says otherwise is wrong for reasons that only I and my die-hard fans understand. Look at this scene - it sucks." He lacks decent enough argument to merit a review of 2001 or NCFOM, and he should stick to analysis over the incessant whining of those non-reviews. No offense, I love the rest of his work, even when I disagree. But with 2001 and NCFOM, he's just WRONG.

I find it ironic that you praise Chase Melendez while defending the Star Wars prequels - movies that Chase outspokenly hated.

If you really understand Chase's view of film as an artform then I just don't see how you could come to the conclusion that the star wars prequels are underrated or deserve any praise whatsoever.
