Ankush is a 1986 Bollywood movie written, directed , edited and co-produced by N. Chandra (real name Chandrashekhar Narvekar) starring Nana Patekar. It is a story of four lower middle class unemployed young men in Mumbai (then Bombay) who feel disconnected with society and are wasting their life away when new neighbours, a young beautiful girl Nita and her mother, change their perspective. They change their attitude and try and blend in with the normal, honest and hard-working society of 1980s India when Nita is raped at the hands of her employers. However the culprits are let off for the want of evidence and Nita takes extreme step of suicide. They then take revenge of each and every culprit in a very novel way . It also shows their distrust in the law of the land. The movie has a tragic end with all four getting death punishment for doing what they thought was correct, specially so when law of land fails to book the criminals for their wrongdoings.

This story revolves around Malhar Gopaldas Agnihotri, a out-of-work actor, poor, and dependent on his father, who is heading for retirement. Malhar knows that he can act, very well indeed, all he needs is some encouragement, and some money. He gets neither. His father is abusive, and even gets physical with him openly in front of all the neighors, and even the neighborhood. Malhar loves a young lady named Apoorva Choudhury, but his affections are mis-applied, as Apoorva only regards him as a friend, and she loves Nihal Joshi, a Police Inspector. Frustrated at the lack of love and encouragement, Malhar takes recourse in an exercise, an exersise that will put him in direct confrontation with the law, as it starts with murder.

The film is based around two college friends who find themselves on the opposite side of the law when they reunite. | Yash Thakur (Sanjay Kapoor) and Suraj Prakash (Salman Khan) are inseparable friends. Yash's criminal dad has many contacts, and soon Yash also comes to know of Suraj's job, and his assignment. This movie is about Joseph (Nana Patekar) and Flavy Braganza (Seema Biswas), a deaf and mute couple in Goa. They have a baby girl together that they decide to name Annie, who is healthy and is able to speak and hear. A few years later they have another baby, a boy named Sam, who is also able to speak and hear. Annie's life is divided into 2 worlds- one with her deaf and mute parents and the other of music, which Annie loves.
A few years later, after the tragic death of Sam, Annie's (Manisha Koirala) life is shattered into small pieces and music and singing fades away from her life. When Annie grows up she gets in touch with music once again - with Raj (Salman Khan) whom Annie falls in love with. She starts singing again. However, Annie gets pregnant and her father tells abort the baby because it will dishonor the family. Annie refuses and goes against her church and religion. When Joseph hears this he asks Annie to leave the house. Raj tries to convince Annie's father that he is a nice guy, but Joseph dislikes him mainly because he is a Hindu who doesn't live in Goa, so Annie would have to go far away from him.
