I love to hear people's reactions the first time they hear this song. One of the great metal shred songs of all time. If you have not already done so, check out one of Jeff Loomis' inspirations.....Tony MacAlpine. Try "pyrokinesis" or "fire mountain". You might just shit yourself.

He is indeed one of the greatest rock guitarists of ALL time. He can be a tad repetitive, but still, easily, one of the best.

Indeed. Tony is a musician's musician. He is certainly not in the mainstream, but I'm willing to bet, he is WELL known among other rock guitarists.

I saw Tony on That Metal Show a few months ago. John Sykes (Whitesnake/Blue Murder) was one of the guests. I could tell he was blown...

Okay. Gonna have to disagree. Deadpool, Wolverine and Spider-man should not even be included in this list. Superman should not be #2. He should be about #10. The Surfer Should be much closer to #1, along with Marian Manhunter, Captain Marvel and Thor.

He never ceases to amaze with his combination of technical prowess, speed, precision, versatility and passion. He is truly one of the few musicians that is unfettered...almost not bound by the laws of this world.

Agreed about Thor. Thor was Stan Lee's be all, end all and Marvel's direct answer to DC's Superman. Thor was originally created to be the be all, end all of all superheroes. I think the Surfer is right next to him, though.

The first time I heard Tony MacAlpine was when I bought his "Maximum Security" album. I was stunned. That was 1987. He is one of the most underappreciated musicians (not to mention unknown) I know of. He is usually known by other aspiring guitarrists, but is largely unknown is the music indus...

One of my favorite songs by MacAlpine. There just isn't much I don't like by Tony...but this is certainly one of my favorite by him. There just seems to be no limit to his talent. Wonderful, wonderful talent!
