I find it very important for horse-people to continously educate themselves for the sake of the horses.

Remember: we use the horse for our own, selfish goals and ambitions. Make sure you always treat the horse with respect and be grateful that he allows you to control him and mount him and use him in your preferred equestrian discipline.
Make sure everything you do is in the best interest of the horse. NEVER abuse him by being harsh, inconsequent and impatient. There are NO shortcuts in training your horse if you want to avoid him breaking down physically and mentally.

Get to know the principles of the learning theory developed and documentated by Andrew McLean, and teach your eyes to separate the flashy and tense-moving horse from a positive "back-mover" - a horse that is supple, gymnasticized and in harmony with no forced movements or frames.

Consider it as an art to educate yourself so you can train your horse in a logical and biomechanical acceptable way. This ensures that he will live better - longer.
