About Me:
Raised in Harlingen, Texas with her parents and older brother Dylan, Danielle began competing in beauty pageants at the age of 7, participating in a number of Junior Teen pageants. She decided to compete in the Miss USA pageant system, winning the regional, state, and finally, national title her first try. "I enjoyed competing and found it was a great way to build confidence, gain communication skills and make lifelong friends along the way," says Danielle.
Danielle's road to the crown has been filled with participation in a variety of clubs including Student Council, Key Club, YoungLife and Fields of Faith. She also actively volunteers with both the Lance Armstrong Foundation and Humane Society. One of her goals is to create her own non-profit organization that she calls "Modest is Hottest." Danielle describes it as "a teen confidence program designed to help young girls struggling with confidence and identity issues." She hopes to use her title as Miss Teen USA to expand this program and tackle this issue that affects hundreds of thousands of teens all over the world.
More than just a beauty queen, Danielle excelled academically and graduated Harlingen High School South ranking eighth in her class of 404 students and making the honor roll every semester. She was able to juggle her academics with a busy extracurricular schedule, and was named a UCA All American Cheerleader. For her year as Miss Teen USA, she will live in New York City and attend the New York Film Academy (NYFA) to take classes in broadcast journalism. Following her reign, Danielle plans to attend Baylor University and continue pursuing her dream of working as a broadcaster for a national television network.
Danielle will also serve as a spokeswoman for teen issues as Miss Teen USA. She will travel nationwide as an advocate for organizations such as DARE, Best Buddies, Project Sunshine, Girl Talk, Sparrows Club and Same Sky Trade Initiative. She plans to raise awareness for issues that are most affecting today's teens, such as bullying and negative body image.
Danielle is a self-proclaimed daredevil, enjoying activities such as four wheeling, snow skiing, tubing, wave running and sky coasting. She also enjoys baking, collecting fortune cookie messages and playing with her Yorkie, Champ.
