To assist people in planning their food consumption we have Arthur Potts Dawson, the acclaimed eco chef who founded sustainable restaurant Acorn House, who has recommended a few ways you can be smarter about food planning at home - take a look.
Here are a few extra tips too:
1) Use lists and plan out your weekly shop
2) Think of two dishes you can rustle up from a few key ingredients
3) Freeze any leftovers for another night
4) Put things that need to be eaten straight away at the front of the fridge so you don't forget them - stick a reminder on the fridge of when they need to be eaten by
5) Use spices and herbs to breathe new life into surplus ingredients
