What a killer band Patto was. Ollie Halsall was certainly one of the most underrated guitarists ever, all the classic "guitar heroes" sang his praise but sadly the major public and media never gave him the attention he deserved. Cool choices, great video!!

I've never heard any of Harvey Mandel's solo records, I really have to now! :) I actually saw him play once though, with Canned Heat 13 years ago over here at the Sweden Rock Festival. Excellent! The Italians were amazing in the prog scene, I got completely hooked around '95 when all those CD reissues started coming out. Whenever I see any on vinyl auctions now, I'm on it - with fingers crossed, originals goes for huge money as we all know. A lot of beautiful reissues out there...

nickc387 is correct. 2001 was released in to theatres in April 1968 and the notion that Echoes was rejected by Kubrick or whatever is ridiculous and a silly fan-rumour, Floyd began recording Echoes for Meddle in January 1971.
