We are a community-based organization, here on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, in southwest, South Dakota. We are the Oglala Lakota Cultural & Economic Revitalization Initiative (OLCERI)...
The core of our project is the creation of a completely self-sufficient demonstration site on an 8,000-acre cattle and horse ranch. Our mission is to provide a practical alternative to the current system of production and consumption - with regard to our basic needs and resources. We are developing our site as a hub for community events and outreach in order to improve the quality of life for the Lakota community. Teaching indigenous skills and Permaculture, our vision for a sustainable future involves the security of our food, water, shelter, energy and community.
