I have to disagree with two things! First this isnt a very heavy bass at all! o_O And secondly i have found that my RBX can hold a tune for quite a long time and I play for hours a day! :D

If it helps I have this bass and got a Fender rumble 30 amp and they sound great together! The Rumble 30 is around your price range but there is a rumble 15 which is only around the 100 quid mark but its more of a starter amp! :D Hope it helps!
