I am the Mom on a Mission for Nutrition. Will you join with me?

I am THE Mom on a Mission 4 Nutrition working to kick junk food out of schools and healthy snacks in.

Since April, I have spoken with many school administrators and nutritional directors and my sense is that the true solution must be a joint effort between parents and the schools.

When parents send their children to school with a taste for junk foods, the schools are very limited in what they can do. Many have commented that when healthier foods are served, the children "turn their noses up" at the healthy foods and the foods end up going to waste.

As the Mom On A Mission For Nutrition, my focus is to call upon parents from a parent-to-parent perspective and encourage them to encourage healthier eating at home, and to make known to schools that there are healthy, whole food snacks available that are very nutritious and that the children will eat.

Together we can end childhood obesity and other illnesses that are a result of poor nutrition.
