I think that "God" is a proper name, like "Brian", and unless you know something or somebody named "Brian", then it refers to nothing, whereas "god" refers to either an imaginary supernatural dictator such as Zeus or an admired person such as Charles Darwin or Richard Dawkins. To me the Pythons and the Beatles are also gods. Who are your gods?
