"I Love You" a song title that's been reused a couple times; this one's from 1923, tune by Harry Archer, lyrics by Harlan Thompson. The Cole Porter song was written in 1943. There's still another tune, same title, recorded by Tommy Tucker band, composer unknown.

Tell me where in the AAIB report that engine failure is ever mentioned? Even if an engine had failed, this should have been an uneventful short-field landing. The airplane was perfectly airworthy, but mishandled. Best to stick to known facts!

If your instructor DOES NOT do this, then you are not being fully trained. When my dad was instructing in WWII, graduating students got to give a "hell ride" to the instructor - seeing if he was really "on the ball". Student said "give me a loop" - and halfway around, engine quit. OK, Dad flipped...

Clark Burroughs (1st tenor) is doubling Frank's melody line through much of the song. Makes a very nice harmonic "bed" for Frank - the Hi-Los could easily overpower Frank if they tried, but they had the class to just support his solo. Oh to be a fly on the wall...

This song is, of course, "America The Beautiful" - as opposed to "America" (My country 'tis of thee).

@Stratocaster07 "Tonight" is very 4/4 - little syncopation, very steady rhythm. "Blue Skies" as done by Keepsake is VERY push-beat. Also consider it's got a lot of minor harmony - does your quartet do this well? Do you sing any other songs of this nature?

Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hart, Jerome Kern, Johnny Mercer, Harold Arlen, Irving Berlin - these are the songwriters who defined the stunning era known as the Great American Songbook. These are the songs that will still be sung in the 22nd century.

And Cole Porter is at the top of the heap.

His name is (Elmer) Lynn Hauldren. Very clever guy - he wrote most of their material, as well as the Empire ads.

I keep waiting for four-part chords - this is mostly 2 & 3 part harmony. Plenty of opportunity in this song to make genuine 4-part progressions - why not try it?

This song is such a masterpiece of Richard Rodgers'. The verse (1:45 > 2:30) covers all the tonalities that Rodgers eschews in the main chorus. Why do you call this "stunts"? Slow rolls and loops are standard training maneuvers. Much less of a stunt than your average roller coaster!
