I find that rolling feels much more useful in the advance games than it did in sonic 4. You actually pick up momentum on hills and loops.

he pauses for a second to post before hopping out - if the other player isn't covering him well, you can punish him then ( it's only for a second though- he leaves as fast as morrigan meter assist)
