NothingTypical.org is not a business for profit or a non-profit org. The videos are made by me and my intellectual property and thus I reserve the right to remove them. None of the business owners, cities or organizations have paid me in any way whatsoever.
There are four criteria I have set for myself before I create my videos:
1. It must be a small business, non-profit or individual.
2. they must be legal and professional in conduct.
3. they must have a reputation for giving back to the community on a regular basis.
4. it must have a unique concept.

╚══╩═╩═╩═╩═╩╩╩╩═╝ and thanks for visiting this profile. I consider myself an essayist, "experimental film maker" and occasional blogger.

The idea to create my You Tube page came to me while sitting in a local [mom & pop] coffee house. Some tourists were complaining that there wasn't much to do in the Bay Area. Heck! Even some locals turned around and agreed with them. Suddenly, one of them says, "It's typical of this area!" And I thought to myself, "This place is NOTHING TYPICAL." Hence the name and the idea so that I can bring light to the world about things to do in our area. WE are NOT a brand, and above all else - we are definitely NOTHING TYPICAL!

RE: the practice of branding: I'm not too fond of quickly trying to define everything. It is my personal opinion that the practice to putting a "label" on everything, teaches people to stereotype and put everything in a neat little box before they can familiarize themselves with a place, person or thing.

Don't get me wrong, I like to be able to go to a grocery store and quickly find my favorite coffee, but people are not produce or merchandise. Because we are, in fact, marvelously and wonderfully made, we must not generalize on mere appearances or what you immediately see or hear.

My hope is to bring awareness that if we continue to do this, we learn an unhealthy practice, which can distort something by excessive Simplification.

Many have tried to label us with this or that with no real success.

Perhaps because we are nothing typical.
