Do you remember 20 years ago, when NordicTrack skiers were popping up in living rooms all over the country? You could say a new fitness craze was born through all those TV spots...yet it was no flash-in-the-pan fad. The intrigue was obvious... exercising to the smooth feel of cross-country skiing...and with all the calorie-burning benefits that a total-body exercise could offer.

The secret to success.
The secret was in the design: Gliding wood skis with just the right amount of resistance... patented flywheel and cables that gave the real "feel" of skiing... and precision adjustments to provide a custom fit to each skier.

Over the years, the NordicTrack line expanded into dozens of skier models for sports enthusiasts at every level. Sure, the novelty of home fitness skiers wore off a little, so the company had to decide how to branch out from skiers. So they decided to expand into the area they knew best: smooth, low-impact exercise machines. That led to the release of a new line of elliptical machines with that patented NordicTrack touch.

A new era for NordicTrack
With a second wind in the late 1990s, NordicTrack began to expand into other home fitness equipment, including it's now touted line of treadmills. The same flare for ultimate design and comfort lead the company to sell strength machines, bikes, steppers, apparel and much, much more.
