Most people playing it on snes died beacuse they wouldn't realize Zeromus would counter each Bahamut, flare, and Holy spell, letting them believe that he was playing superfast...

Best strategy I found that's not hardcore is
Mage dude : spams indignation
Max : spam aqua spiral (shit's crazyyyyyyyyy strong)
Meredy : spam nurse (fast and heal wherever you are)
Melee stuff with reid (meganosic blade, iirc ?)
