They have multiple children in order to have support when they are old and cannot work anymore. There is no welfare system, no retirement savings plan: they depend on their families to feed and house them.
Simple logic, no?

Sadly, Bob Marley passed away in May, 1981.
Despite the fact that Inner Circle was a popular band in Jamaica in the mid 70's, Sweat was originally released by Inner Circle in 1987, and Sweat was released in 1992. So I am pretty sure Bob did NOT do covers of those songs.
