@CORVAIRWILD The air cleaner lid trick even makes a 2 barrel 307 roar. I was surprised when I did this on my 67 Impala in high school. Everyone thought it was a 4 barrel. When I did upgrade it to a 4 barrel I could be heard a mile away.

@stratocat9999 I put new rubber on my idlers and what a difference it makes. Much quieter and don't need to keep putting rosin on them to make them grip. I have to do the same to my spare STR26 and replace the 2 microfarad starting capacitor for the motor.

@gpeasy1 I had a PCV line crack on my 98 Corolla and of course it cracked right by the throttle body fitting. Even my small hands could hardly get in to change it.

@APDTY At the same time if the car has 100,000 + miles on it at least the front O2 sensor could stand to be replaced just to maintain fuel economy. Even if it's not bad enough to throw a code and something else is throwing a code 100K is about all they last before getting weak and slow.

I can relate I've been burned buying used cars and of course they work fine until I pay and the title goes to me then all hell breaks loose.
