Rising Dream made its first steps in the year 2000 under the name Sand Castle. Band started as a desire to recuperate hard & heavy music scene in the city of Zadar. The first line-up was: Ivan Sturnela (bass), Dario Botić (drums), Nikola Ilijevski (guitars), Rino Rudić (vocals) and Joško Barbir (guitars). It was a rough beginning for a couple of eighteen year old friends, as they had no moral or tehnical support at that time. In the end of year 2001, Nikola left the band, and was replaced by Goran Paleka, (ex Scheme). Soon after, band continued to work under a new name; Valhalla. After several live shows they decided to record their first demo tape, which contained three of their own songs, plus Black Sabbath and Metallica covers. Unfortunately, that demo tape never reached the audience, as it lacked in quality. Nevertheless, band continued with intesive work on their own materials and ideas. At that time, band played two shows with legendary Croatian/Bosnian band Divlje Jagode, confirming their astatus as quality hard rock band. Beginning of 2003 was marked with a new line-up change; Matija Tadić on vocals, and Mate Čulina (ex Getar) on bass. At the same time Ivan Kutija (ex Nocturnal Crown) joined the band as a keyboard player, thus bringing a fresh sound and ideas into the band. Now, as a band of six, Valhalla became Rising Dream; departing from all previous work, band started to work on more heavy/power metal sound. M.M.S. 2004 Festival was their first gig under the name Rising Dream, where they supported power metal giant Helloween. Band also played several very succesful gigs which confirmed their act, name and status. Soon after, new members reached the band; Igor Goić as the new drummer (ex Sketch, ex Verbal Abuse) and Marino Grgurev as the new bass player (Dollface). At that time, Rising Dream visits Antares sound studio and records their first demo tape called "Rising Madness". First gig in this line-up was the trial of the First Metal Challenge in rock club Pauk, Zagreb. Together with another 13 bands they played in front of scouts from several metal labels: Nuclear Blast, SPV, Roadrunner, Locomotive and Santcuary Media. After a brilliant show, rewarded with positive feedback from the audience, they got the title "band of the evening" and were the only band that performed oncour. Rising Dream was one of two Croatian bands that played on Metal Camp Festival 2005 in Slovenia, together with Slayer, Soulfly, Anthrax, Therion, Obituary, HammerFall, Yingwie Malmsteen etc,. Their performance was noticed by the greatest music television ever - MTV Adria. So, the band made their stand in "Headbanger's Ball", one of the most famous TV metal shows ever. Band also worked on promo and press activities in all main Croatian medias. M.M.S. 2005 Festival was the next stop for Rising Dream, where they supported Sweedish viking metal monsters Amon Amarth. After several more gigs band decided to record another demo, again in Antares sound studio. This time they recorded six of their own songs together with live and studio documentary. January of 2006 was marked with their second Helloween support gig, in Boogaloo club in Zagreb. That was the last gig in this line-up, as Matija decided to leave the band so he could focus on his solo materials. Nevertheless, band continued to work on the new materials and turned to the future plans. Next in line are several major summer concerts and further promotional activities. Rising Dream marches on as one of best and most interesting power metal live acts from Croatia. See you out there!
