Nick:"I think the biggest example of a song that came out of real life experiences, would be Before The Storm. It's a song that we, did with Miley and it was really, a nice feeling to kinda tell the story of our relationship.
I think it was the to both of us, not only did we sit down and write a song on a piano together, which is something that we'd never done, of all the time we've spent together, but also, just talk about things that happened, that frustrated the both of us.
I think the thing I learned about myself was that, in moments where she probably could have used me I wasn't there. That's tough sometimes, but, I think the thing that makes my relationship with as friends now, and at times more romantic, is just that, we've learned not to take ourselves seriously.
We've wrote our songs about it, we moved on, and now we're best friends, and that's what matters."
