I am 25 and live in Africa's version of hell, Harare, the capital city of Zimbabwe. And unlike many others, I am fortunate as I stay in a five bedroom house that belongs to my parents who fled for Cape Town several years ago. They lived here for many years when this country was still called Rhodesia. My dad even fought in the bush war in the late seventies. I was born in 1984 in Bulawayo, the second largest city in Zim.
Basic supplies, petrol, medicines and foreign currency are now very hard to come by - and being gay doesn't help matters either. Robert Mugabe's police have harassed me on a number of occasions. But he cannot live forever, and one day in the not to distant future this beautiful country will once again be free - which is exactly why I stay on.
I work for an ad agency, Action Advertizing in downtown Harare, and I drive a BMW 325i. I am also single.
I also enjoy travelling, although it's incredibly expensive on the world's worst currency.
Anyone feel like a visit to a really exiting - and extremely cheap - destination?
