About this user

Neoplasma was established January 2008 as a surrogate from the heavy metal band Kranium from Os, a little town outside of Bergen. They wanted vocals in their music to perform at a competition. The members of Kranium were Michael Hansen on drums, Martin Aarland on guitar and Ivan Rolstad on bass. They asked Ole Martin Skjønhaug(former vocalist) if he wanted to do the vocals, and he brought with him Patrick Gaassand(vocals) on the rehearsal. Then they formed Neoplasma, the tumor of hate.

After a while Ole left because of other interests. Patrick continued doing the vocals and writing the lyrics alone. A few months later, the band recorded their first EP "Die With A Smile" in Conclave Media with Bjørnar Nilsen. This was an unofficial record for promoting only.

In february 2009, Tom Erik Barrie Hennes joined the band. Martin wanted a companion on the axe, and Neoplasma wanted more guitars. The band played several gigs in Bergen that year. At the end of the year, the band recorded the drums for their debut full-length album "Tumor Of Hate". Because of broke members, the guitars couldn´t be recorded yet. In the meantime, the band replaced Tom Erik with guitarist Christer Havsgård. The rest of the album was recorded in 2010 and 2011, and was released digital by the band in oktober 2011.

The band is now writing songs for an upcoming EP. The lyrics is inspired by the mind of a serial killer with a code, reflecting on his deeds and his dark mind. Musically, the band is inspired by the swedish and american death metal.
