Mikey was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and moved to the states at a very early age. His fascination with music started at age 8. After playing clarinet for four years, he quickly picked up the guitar at age 11 and immediately fell in love with the instrument.Obsessively devoting four-to-six hours to practice each day, Mikey taught himself works from classical to metal/shred genres. He is currently a guitar major, studying for his degree in Music/Music Education at CPCC. Mikey says, "Studying classical and jazz guitar really opens up your mind and perception toward the instrument and music in general. Tracing the modern-day guitar language to its roots allows you to identify the path music has traveled for it to finally become what it is today."
He is the founding member of the band "Fall of Ashes," which is a Christian Progressive Rock band that leads worship at local churches and plays at local venues.
