About NearlyEdge U2 Channel
Hi, welcome to my U2 Channel, where I'll be posting my versions of well-known U2 classics, with the emphasis on the guitar sound of The Edge.
Why U2 and The Edge? Well, back in the early 80s they inspired me and some mates to pick up (borrowed) guitars and form a band, and that's where my playing career started.
Didn't do much stuff for a long time in the noughties, until 2008 when I decided that I was going to learn some songs, use that gear and form a U2 tribute band. This is all part of that. (By the way, we're looking for a Bono (in Ipswich, UK) so if you're that man, contact me. Now!! :) )
Gear used: 98 US Strat with Callaham 'S' Cryo Pickup Assembly (Custom Wound Lindy Fralin Vintage Hot pickups). 99 Gibson Explorer 76 Reissue with ToneRider Alnico IV pickups. 70s Reissue (MIM) Strat with ToneRider Pure Vintage Pickups. Line 6 Variax 500 for everything else. Line 6 M13, Pod X3 Live into a Johnson Millennium Stereo 150. Cubase SX.
