NdiagaMbaye (Njaga Issambaye)

Njaga is a master drummer born in Yoff, Senegal. He is a Griot, (West African poet, praise singer, and wandering musician, considered a repository of oral traditions). As a small boy he learnt Mbalax, the traditional drumming rhythms of Senegal, from his uncle. He is known in Senegal and West Africa as a master drummer and plays every type of drum - sabar, djembe, tama talking drums as well as drum kit. He also plays bass, acoustic and electric guitar, and sings.
