Patriotic If only we were united on fighting terrorism, we would be much further along than we are. The more the Middle East sees the left attacking Bush, the less safe and the less effective we will be. There are those sitting on the fence, waiting to see if America will cut and run before they come forward. The more people bash Bush, the more blood and treasure we will need to accomplish the goal of fighting the Islamists. The debate has begun and more people in the Middle East are speaking out in favor of freedom and self rule. Iraq will be a model for the region, that is if we continue to stand strong and not back down on our commitment to support them.

National security and fighting terrorism are my issues. Anything else can wait. I was an advocate of Iraqi freedom ever since the 1st Gulf war and supported the Clinton Administrations Iraq Liberation act of 1998. All the reasons laid out in that Act were reasons enough to remove Saddam. We cannot go back on our word to support the good Iraqis in their fight for freedom and self rule. We cannot betray a trust that is growing everyday or ignore the fact that there ARE accomplishments and many positive things ARE happening right now. The past is the past... I cannot wish forever that Clinton would have taken Osama from the Sudan when they offered him to us. I cannot change the way the war in Iraq had gone in the aftermath of the invasion and no one else can either. All we can do is DO THE RIGHT thing and not abandon the people who are helping us at this moment. They deserve better from us.

Became a news junkie after 9-11. I helped evacuate the World Trade Center during the 93 bombing. Thought my country was doing everything it could to keep me safe, I was wrong. 60 years of diplomacy did nothing to keep us safe, sometimes people have to do the hard and dangerous work of supporting those who have lived under tyranny for so long and YES they are worth the effort. Supporting democracies should be the USA's foreign policy. Any country who doesn't invite us in to monitor their nuclear programs and call for the destruction of another country, should be aggressively combated by all the free, democratic nations of the world. There shouldn't be a question. The future of the US and the free world in peril. War was declared on the west and the west can't continue to be in denial. The entire free world SHOULD be on the same page to fight terrorism whether its a lone wolf, home grown one or a country that supports terrorism and is doing everything in its power to facilitate terrorism.
