National Apostasy

FOR OVER 150 YEARS STUDENTS OF BIBLE PROPHECY HAVE BEEN PRESENTING THEIR TESTIMONY TO THE WORLD THAT NATIONAL APOSTASY WOULD OCCUR IN THE UNITED STATES - THESE PREDICTIONS ARE NOW RAPIDLY COMING TO PASS

"The people of the United States have been a favored people; but when they restrict religious liberty, surrender Protestantism, and give countenance to popery, the measure of their guilt will be full, and 'national apostasy' will be registered in the books of heaven. The result of this apostasy will be national ruin." RH, May 2, 1893

"Protestants will work upon the rulers of the land to make laws to restore the lost ascendancy of the man of sin, who sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. Roman Catholic principles will be taken under the care and protection of the state. This national apostasy will speedily be followed by national ruin." RH June 15, 1897.

"It is at the time of the national apostasy when, acting on the policy of Satan, the rulers of the land will rank themselves on the side of the man of sin. It is then the measure of guilt is full. The national apostasy is the signal for national ruin." 2SM 373 (1891).

THE PREDICTIONS IN THE ABOVE THREE QUOTES ARE NOW BEING FULFILLED ON A GRAND SCALE IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE WORLD:

"In 1960, John F. Kennedy went from Washington to Texas to assure Protestant preachers that he would not obey the pope . . . In 2001, George Bush came from Texas up to Washington to assure a group of Catholic bishops that he woud obey the pope." - Washington Times, April 16, 2001

In an April 1982 speech before the National Catholic Education Association, President Reagan made the incredible statement, "I am grateful for your help in shaping American policy to reflect God's will ...., And I will look forward to further guidance from His Holiness Pope John Paul II during an audience I will have with him in June."

WHAT FORM WILL THIS GROWING UNION OF CHURCH AND STATE TAKE? RAPIDLY APPROACHING IS THE STICT OF ENFORCEMENT OF SUNDAY AS A NATIONAL DAY OF REST:

"When the protestant churches shall unite with the secular power to sustain a false religion, for opposing which their ancestors endured the fiercest persecution, then will the papal sabbath be enforced by the combined authority of church and state. There will be a national apostasy, which will end only in national ruin." Ev 235 (1899).

"When our nation, in its legislative councils, shall enact laws to bind the consciences of men in regard to their religious privileges, enforcing Sunday observance, and bringing oppressive power to bear against those who keep the seventh-day Sabbath, the law of God will, to all intents and purposes, be made void in our land, and national apostasy will be followed by national ruin." 7BC 977 (1888).

"When the state shall use its power to enforce the decrees and sustain the institutions of the church--then will Protestant America have formed an image to the papacy, and there will be a national apostasy which will end only in national ruin." 7BC 976 (1910).

Such action will be directly contrary to the principles of this government, to the genius of its free institutions, to the direct and solemn avowals of the Declaration of Independence, and to the Constitution. The founders of the nation wisely sought to guard against the employment of secular power on the part of the church, with its inevitable result-- intolerance and persecution.

"THE GREATEST AND MOST FAVORED NATION UPON THE EARTH IS THE UNITED STATES. A gracious Providence has shielded this country, and poured upon her the choicest of Heaven's blessings. Here the persecuted and oppressed have found refuge. Here the Christian faith in its purity has been taught. This people have been the recipients of great light and unrivaled mercies. But these gifts have been repaid by ingratitude and forgetfulness of God. The Infinite One keeps a reckoning with the nations, and their guilt is proportioned to the light rejected. A fearful record now stands in the register of Heaven against our land; but the crime which shall fill up the measure of her iniquity is that of making void the law of God." 4SP 398.
