Atatürk was a Man with a Iron Fist and he ruled Turkey like a Real leader,not like a Islamist freak or a puppet of someone else.He was very clever and cunning.Just remember how he kicked the Arabs out of Hatay infront of the french colonial Power.They could do nothing.Or how he took the holy mountain of the Armenians (Ararat)?Or how he destroyed the kurdish leader during the Sheikh Said Revolution.Or he used the british against the Soviet to stop them in caucasia?No wonder his name means "father of the Turks" and no wonder why you will see at least 100 different statues of him in every town or village.

They adore the Ottoman Empire,because of it's size and Power,not because of it's shariah.Many want it back yes and many others don't want it back.Atatürk did good job with banning the arabic letters and adopting the latin letters.It's much easier to learn and it's more international then Arabic.From which history are you talking about?600 years islamic history?What about the pre-islamic history of Turkey?According to Dna researchs Most of them are the descendants of the Hittites who had a great civilization long before abrahamic religions came to this Area,what we call Anatolia today.Atatürk turned the ottoman Empire,which was actually just a backwarded and poor playground for western Empires into a strong and independent country of the middle east,which could enforce itself against the Arabs of Hatay,the Armenians of Ararat and the Kurds of Dersim.One after one he destroyed all his enemys and claimed this areas for Turkey.A leader like this will never come again.

As I said,Turkey is not a Islamic country,because it doesn't put the religion over the state.A Islamic country is a country,which is ruled by the Shariah and by the contents of the Quran.Just because you saw several thousand's protesters for Palestine it doesn't mean that all of the turkish people think like that.During the 2007 Elections we saw 500.000 Protesters who demonstrated against "political Islam" and for the dvision of state and Politic's.So I think it's not a big deal,since a demonstration does not represent the average Opinion.I'm also living and studiying in Turkey and almost all of my friends in the university are irreligious.Those theocratic Shariah-Islamist's getting mocked and they are called "Yobaz"

Its not Christians and Jews against Muslims, its all three against each other. All of our cultures and religions clash, that is how it is because all our holy books were written by men and contain errors. There is only one God and he does not care how we worship him, mealy that we are good moral people and try to help one another and everything around us. We for example believe Jesus was the Christ, which you do not, this is fine obviously, but its an example of how we naturally collide and have done since Christ and then with Muslims 500 years later. Just be good people and know what parts to ignore, do not be swayed by what men wrote thousands of years ago, follow and do what we all know is right deep down inside of us.
